Thurs, April 19th · 7:30pm Doors · 8:30pm Show · $10 Advance/$12 At Door
at The Bell House (149 7th St, Brooklyn, NY 11215)

It was a Hard Knock Life way before Jay-Z rapped about it. We old schoolers know the original orphan gangsta was Ann-E! So, Secret Formula is representing with The Annie Sing-Along! It’s the movie musical you know and love with all the words to the songs on the screen for you and all your friends to Sing-Along with! Slap on your curly red wig, throw on that red dress with the white collar, brush down that sandy yellow dog, and get yourself to Gowanus cause we’re turning the Bell House into the hottest orphanage in town…leapin’ lizards!

This movie has an amazing cast of stars, two of whom have April birthdays: Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Carol Burnett (The Carol Burnett Show), who gives an incredible performance as the cruel, drunk, and randy orphanage director/con-artist, Miss Hannigan. Let’s celebrate and sing about it!

Return to your slumber party days of youth as we gather once more to belt out hits like “Tomorrow,” “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” and of course “Hard Knock Life”. And, since Tim Curry is in it, we’ll have Rocky Horror Picture Show style interactive props and games for you to play throughout the movie along with themed cocktails (like the Dumb Dog, Rooster Juice and Warbucks Punch), drinking games (drink every time Miss Hannigan tells the kids to “shut up!”), tea time like in the Warbucks Mansion with tea and snacks, as well as contests including…

- Costume Contest - Shave your head to look like Daddy Warbucks! Dye your hair and get a perm to look like Annie! Dress up as your favorite character for a chance to win!

- Trivia Competition - Test your Annie knowledge against other superfans!

- Miss Hannigan’s Challenge - Think you’ve got what it takes to clean like an orphan? Well, grab a broom and prove it during this child labor inspired relay race. As Miss Hannigan says, “If this floor don’t shine like the top of the Chrysler Building, your backsides will.”

-Win prizes including free drinks and tickets to upcoming shows courtesy of The Bell House!

Best of Season 2 (part II)
Tuesday, August 9 ·  Doors 7:00pm/Show 8:00pm @ The Bell House; $5

The 2nd half of the 2nd season, including the incredible Miss Twin Peaks Pageant!

Who cast a spell on NYC, the Log Lady? The TV Party audience has insisted that we bring FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, Sherriff Harry S Truman, and beautiful dead homecoming queen Laura Palmer to the big screen in Brooklyn…and who are we to stand in the way of a supernatural curse? So, Secret Formula gladly submits and presents to you, TV PARTY: TWIN PEAKS.

Why stay at home and watch TV, when you can go to the Bell House for a TV Party? There will be themed cocktails (The White Lodge/Black Lodge, The Red Room, The Leland Palmer), party games, team trivia for prizes and Twin Peaks influenced ridiculousness galore.

We’re transplanting the Bell House to a creepy logging town in rural Washington, where a beautiful naked corpse awaits discovery. And just like the show, this event will be full of campy mystery. Along with our favorite Twin Peaks episodes, we’ll be doing some of this…

- Franny Fluffer’s The Pink Room performing Twin Peaks Burlesque (See burlesque acts featuring Laura Palmer and The Log Lady!)

- A lecture from Dr. Johnny von McNulty - “Expert” (Johnny is on the Harold Team ‘Very Good Kiss’ at the UCB Theater, a contributor to ‘The Onion’ and SNL’s ‘Weekend Update’, and co-author of Please Fire Me: Posts from the Revolting Workplace.)

- Backwards-talking contest

- Miss Twin Peaks pageant

- Doughnuts and coffee

- Search the club for hidden clues leading to the location of the tightly plastic-wrapped Laura Palmer Barbie Doll

- Owls, lots of owls

Friday, July 29th, 7:00pm Doors/8:00pm Show @ The Bell House; $8

Continuing our fondness for Disney musicals, though switching over to live action, we’re bringing you this 90’s movie musical that answered the oft asked question: Should we cast Bill Pullman in a singing role in a musical? The answer was no and we’ve been better off ever since for knowing.

Directed by heavy hitter Kenny Ortega (Hocus Pocus, High School Musicals 1-3, This is It and Dirty Dancing…the TV series?!) this movie is bound to remade with Zac Efron. So before that happens come see a pre-Batman/growly voice Christian Bale as Jack Kelly singing and dancing all about how unfair a nominal increase in newspaper costs are. I suggest we start doing the same about MTA fares as those hikes are much steeper.

As always we’ve subtitled the songs so you can sing-along with the audience and pretend that you are, in fact, the King of New York. We’ll have lots of interactive Rocky Horror style fun throughout the show (it is a pretty cheesy musical after all) as well as themed drinks, trivia, costume contest and Newsies dance off to see who can actually pull off that high kick move without busting their ass.

So come on out to The Bell House and Sing-Along with us. Whats’a matta, you scared of Brooklyn?

We’re having a slumber party (minus the sleeping over part) at The Bell House and you’re invited! We may even order some pizzas if our parents let us. And what show would be better for a slumber party than Jem? Jem is excitement! Jem is adventure! Glamour and glitter, fashion and fame! Who could ask for anything more in a Saturday morning cartoon show?

After the success of G.I. Joe HASBRO hired the same ad agency who made that to create a girl version TV show to churn out tons of more toys. What came out of that noble endeavor? Jem and the Holograms! Which, despite its commercial aims, actually turned out to be an awesome TV show with an impressive catalog of original songs, some awesome late 80’s style animation and plenty of hilarious moments (including a drug awareness episode that can not be missed).

We’re watching our favorite episodes of Jem while enjoying the nights festivities including:

+Cereal bar featuring only the finest sugar cereals to recreate that Saturday morning cartoon experience
+Live band covering Jem and the Holograms and Misfits classics

Tuesday, June 28 · Doors 7pm / Show 8pm - $5

at The Bell House
149 7th Street
Brooklyn, NY
www.thebellhouseny.com

This TV Party is dedicated to the coolest sci-fi program of the last decade: Battlestar Galactica. Time magazine called it the best show on television while it was on the air. Jeff Jensen of Entertainment Weekly wrote that the show “has distinguished itself as one of television’s very best dramas — on a par with 24, The Wire, and Lost”.

To sum up: A space drama that’s not too spacey or sci-fiey. Awesome actors. Great writing. EDWARD JAMES OLMOS! Hot chicks and, I’ve been told, sexy dudes. Robots.  Wikipedia calls it: a military science fiction serial drama television series. It’s an engaging, tense and exciting show that’s a whole lot of fun to watch. Kind of like The West Wing…in space…with more fighting.

Basically, this show is frakkin’ awesome!

+There’s tons of drinking on the show so come prepared for drinking games!
+Cylon Raider cookies for you to destroy…with your mouth!
+Costume Contest: Which Cylon will you be? Can you grow a sweet beard like Gaius Baltar? Got a cool Colonial Fleet pilot outfit?
+Performance by Kara Thrace and Her Special Destiny playing cover songs you know and love!
+Guess the Cylon Competition!
+Themed drinks like Colonel Tigh’s Secret Stash, Leonis Estates Sparkling Wine, Ambrosia, Virgon Brew and more!
+BG trivia to test your knowledge of the show!
